Glimmer Paste-Tips And Ideas

Today we are talking about Glimmer Paste, another of my favorite products from Tonic Studios. They create texture and glittery effect where ever you apply them.

Glimmer Paste is most often used with stencils to create dimension and glitter to all your projects. It can be used in your scrapbook pages, your greeting cards, your altered book pages and your journal pages. You can also use it in your planners, journals and on any paper project you can think of.

Besides paper, you can also use them on glass, fabric, acetate, glass and wood. Your use of Glimmer Paste will enhance all of your projects,

Glimmer Paste comes in 1.7 ounce fluid bottles. There are 12 colors available. The bottle of Glimmer Paste has a large opening so that you can put back any unused product.

Glimmer Paste looks great on both dark and light paper

Glimmer Paste Uses

  • Use it on stencils.
  • Use it to "frost" a paper cupcake.
  • Use Glimmer Paste on an envelope, Use a stencil or just a smear a bit of color on the outside of your envelope.
  • Use it on words and letters.

Glimmer Paste Tips

  • Glimmer Paste dries quickly, so you will want to keep a bowl of warm water nearby. That way you can soak your stencils and tools.
  • You can use a spatula or palette knife to spread the product evenly
  • You can use more than one color on the same project
  • Left the stencil straight off the project
  • Wash the stencil and palette knife in warm water and dish detergent right away
  • For small die cut, put a piece of scrap paper or waxed paper under the piece. Scrap the left over product and put it back into the jar
  • Bend the paper in half to help you lift the piece off the paper
  • Use a tweezer to lift small
  • You can mix two colors to make a custom color
  • Create you own custom embellishments by stenciling on deli or waxed paper.

We hope that we have inspired you to give Glimmer Paste a try.
Till next time, Happy Crafting!
Linda

Cute Unicorn Card

Today I need to create a bright and cheerful birthday card for my great granddaughter who is turning three. I wanted something that would express her great grandpa's and my love for her. We also wanted something that would catch her attention. The stamp set was one that I got from a magazine. It was one of those sets that often is included when you get stamping magazines. So, I am unable to identify it. It also had the hearts, flowers and a mouse and dolphin (more about the dolphin on another day. The set also had some dies for the animals, but not for the flowers. Beyond Basic Backgrounds

Today we are exploring back grounds for greeting cards using stamps and coordinating dies with embossing powders to create a totally different look. Welcome to another community tutorial as I take my journey through the Altenew Educator Class. I have to say that I love the soft look of these greeting cards.  For this technique you will need a stamp set with the coordinating dies. You will actually create a stencil using the dies for the image that you are using on your background. To create this stencil, you will want to use a heavy white cardstock, at least 90 Lbs. or more. That way, you will be able to use the stencil again. You also will want to make the stencil a bit larger than the actual card base. Overlapping will give you the best results.
