Benefits Of Adult Coloring

We all may not agree about the state of today's world, the health crises that we face, and the stress level of our daily lives at work or home. But we can all agree that today's world gives us stress. We may be facing financial stress, health problems, family stress, and job stress. But we all face the stress that can rob us of our joy and happiness.

In today's world, we are being constantly sucked into all the negativity on social media and TV. We are being bombarded by all of our electronic devices, which all take a toll on us both physically and mentally.

Stress affects our minds and bodies. Coloring can help lower our stress levels

So how can we find some stress relievers that can help us relax, find some joy, nurture our creative side? Well, for thousands of folks, adult coloring has become a pass time that brings joy and relaxation to their weary souls.

You do not have to have the skills to color or create your own pieces of artwork. You learn as you go. And believe me from experience, that growth is very satisfying.

These are not the coloring books and pages of your childhood. These are beautiful illustrations there for you to add your personal touches. You could use markers, pens, pencils, and watercolors. And none of these supplies have to breathe bank. There are plenty of options within your budget.

Best of all everyone can find pages that carry their personal interests. No matter what kind of pages that you enjoy, there are pages for you.

There are thousands of free adult coloring pages for you to print out on your home printer. Or you can get some amazing coloring books that are available at reasonable prices.

The nice thing about adult coloring is that everything is portable. You can carry most of your coloring supplies just about anywhere you can think of. I love nothing better than to color while waiting in a doctor's office or traveling on a plane. You can color on your lunch hour at work to release some stress. And best of all, take some time with your kids or grandkids to color on the kitchen table and have some conversation. I guarantee it is a memory that they will never forget. All of your coloring supplies are portable. you can carry them anywhere. Coloring books come in different sizes. So you can find one to fit your needs.

Studies have found that coloring calms the parts of the brain that process fear and stress. Think about someone you know who may be in the hospital, undergoing treatments, or suffering from a chronic health situation, How cool would it be to give them a couple of markers or colored pencils and a coloring book.

What a lovely gift this would be for anyone in a nursing home or assisted living facility. It helps them be more mindful and helps them to concentrate on their pages.

So is this papercraft for you? Would you consider giving it a try? Why not print out a page or two. Grab some pencils and see how wonderful half an hour of coloring can be. Relax, become mindful in the moment, and enjoy the process.

I hope that you give adult coloring a try. Sitting and coloring is so relaxing. Once you have tried it you will get hooked on it.

Till next time, Happy Crafting!

Beyond Basic Backgrounds

Today we are exploring back grounds for greeting cards using stamps and coordinating dies with embossing powders to create a totally different look. Welcome to another community tutorial as I take my journey through the Altenew Educator Class. I have to say that I love the soft look of these greeting cards.  For this technique you will need a stamp set with the coordinating dies. You will actually create a stencil using the dies for the image that you are using on your background. To create this stencil, you will want to use a heavy white cardstock, at least 90 Lbs. or more. That way, you will be able to use the stencil again. You also will want to make the stencil a bit larger than the actual card base. Overlapping will give you the best results. The coordinating flowers add a natural touch to the design.  Here are some of the techniques that I am focusing on for this tutorial: All About Layering 1-5 All About Layering Dies Edition Layering Guides Layering gu...

Cute Unicorn Card

Today I need to create a bright and cheerful birthday card for my great granddaughter who is turning three. I wanted something that would express her great grandpa's and my love for her. We also wanted something that would catch her attention. The stamp set was one that I got from a magazine. It was one of those sets that often is included when you get stamping magazines. So, I am unable to identify it. It also had the hearts, flowers and a mouse and dolphin (more about the dolphin on another day. The set also had some dies for the animals, but not for the flowers.
